Abstract

Cadmium sulphide (CdS), copper sulphide (CuS) thin films and CdS/CuS heterostructure have been deposited by chemical bath method onto glass substrate at room temperature. The absorbance spectra of the fabricated films were obtained with a Janway 6405 UV/ Visible spectrophotometer in the range of wavelength 200nm - 1100nm. Structural and surface morphology of the films were carried out using an x-ray diffractometer with Cukα radiation and Olumpus Optical microscope. Absorbance spectra of CdS, CuS thin film and CdS/CuS heterostructure were comparatively analyzed. Comparatively, we inferred that the heterostructure of CdS and CuS increase the absorbance of the films in the UV region of the spectrum and slightly in the NIR region of the spectrum.
